After the launch of its second horizontally foldable smartphone, the Find N2, Oppo now seems to be working on its successor. Just like the Find N, the Find N2 was also exclusive to Oppo’s home market. The new foldable which has been labeled as Oppo Find N3 for the time being, is said to offer plenty of upgrades including a larger screen, battery and the latest processor from chipmaker Qualcomm. The source also provided hints about the design of the upcoming smartphone without going into details.

Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has leaked several details of an upcoming Oppo foldable handset, which has been labeled as the Find N3. This is the first set of details about the Oppo Find N3 to be made public and it’s also the first we’ve heard about the device itself, as Oppo recently released its successor to the Find N, in December last year.

The tipster claims that the upcoming device will have a larger 8-inch internal display with a resolution of 2268 x 2440 pixels. It will also feature a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The new screen certainly looks like an upgrade to the existing model as it offers a higher resolution and is also larger. The source doesn’t go into specifics about the Find N3’s design, just mentioning that it will be “ultra-slim”, which would be welcome compared to the thicker form factor of the current phone when folded.

As for the processor, it is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. No details on RAM and storage were shared. What we get are details regarding the foldable camera. The Find N3 is supposed to feature dual selfie cameras, just like the outgoing model, but will have a 20-megapixel camera on the outer display and a 30-megapixel selfie camera on the inner display, according to the tipster.

On the rear panel, we can expect a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX890) with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX581) and a periscope camera. L07D1W22, according to the tipster. The periscope camera appears to be the same as on the unreleased OnePlus foldable according to a recent tip from the same source.

Oppo Find N3 battery details are also available. The phone is expected to have a 4,805mAh battery, which is quite a bit larger than the 4,520mAh unit of the outgoing model.

An earlier report based on the same source pointed out that OnePlus’ foldable will be different. However, we are now starting to notice some similarities with the display and camera components used in these two unreleased smartphones. Since all of the information above is based on rumours, we advise our readers to take this information with a grain of salt.
