Oppo Find N2 Flip Foldable set to launch at MWC 2023 due to leaked global variant specs

Oppo’s foldable clamshell Find N2 Flip, which was announced alongside the larger Find N2 in China, may finally see a global launch, according to the latest leak. While the Find N2 will remain exclusive to China, the smaller Find N2 Flip, according to a tipster, will see a global launch as early as February. The phone features a new teardrop hinge design that makes creases less noticeable and also reduces stress on the inner foldable screen. It has a larger-than-usual external display, which should make it an ideal rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series.

According to tipster @snoopytech, the Oppo Find N2 Flip will be released in Europe and worldwide. The release date has not been confirmed, but the source says it will likely happen during the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2023 (MWC 2023) event, which is expected to take place in February.

The tipster also shared more details about the Global variant of the Oppo Find N2 Flip, which appears to be very similar to the announced model in China. The processor also remains the same, which would be the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC. From the leaked photos, the phone also looks identical in design and will be available in Astral Black and Moonlit Purple finishes globally. According to the leaked details, it also has an IPX4 rating which makes it resistant to splashing water.

The foldable interior display is a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel that oddly offers Gorilla Glass 5 protection. of 120Hz, all presented in a 21:9 aspect ratio. The outer screen measures 3.26 inches and offers a resolution of 720 x 382 pixels with a refresh rate of 60Hz, and is also covered in Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone appears to have only one configuration, offering 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. For communication, there is dual SIM with 5G dual standby, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. The phone packs a 4,300mAh battery and supports 44W SuperVooc wired charging. As noted in a previous report, there is no mention of wireless charging in the leaked spec sheet. The phone, when folded, is 16mm thick and weighs 191 grams. The package includes a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, a SIM card eject tool, a protective case and a charging adapter.

If the above information turns out to be true and Oppo ends up launching the Find N2 Flip worldwide, it would be interesting to see a new contender in the foldable space, which has long been dominated by Samsung devices. The Oppo Find N2 Flip is expected to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, also on sale in India. While Samsung’s foldable already offers features like wireless charging and an IPX8 rating, it was stuck with a small screen that didn’t do well in terms of usability in our review. Oppo, on the other hand, promises a much better experience with its external display, which it claims reduces the need to open the vertically foldable smartphone by 20%. What remains to be confirmed is whether Oppo’s first foldable clamshell will arrive in India.
