Oppo A98 5G obtains NBTC certification

Last November, an Oppo smartphone bearing the model code PHQ110 and believed to be the Oppo A98 5G was certified by China’s TENAA. Now a new version of the A98, bearing the model designation CPH2529, has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC, bringing it closer to a launch outside of China.

The Thai CA doesn’t reveal anything about the CPH2529 other than confirming 5G connectivity. However, thanks to TENAA, we know what the Chinese version will have to offer.

The Chinese Oppo A98 will be powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor and sport a 6.7″ FullHD+ curved AMOLED display with a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication.

The smartphone will come with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It will be powered by a battery rated at 4,690mAh and will have three cameras in tow – 108MP primary, 2MP depth/macro and 16MP selfie.
