Following the recent school tragedy in Texas, Disney+ included a warning in the first episode of Obi Wan Kenobi about an opening scene from the Star Wars series that may upset some viewers. “Although this fictional series is a continuation of the plot of the Star Wars films recorded many years ago,” warns a note in the show’s “details” section, “some scenes may upset viewers in light recent tragic events,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

However, the notification does not appear in the “details” section of all the show’s Disney+ accounts. He also does not appear onscreen until the episode begins.

After the premiere of the first two episodes of Obi Wan Kenobi Thursday night on the west coast and Friday at midnight on the east coast, the message was added at some point on Friday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, viewers are transported to the present day in the Ewan McGregor-directed show, there’s a scene from ten years ago in which Order 66, aka the near abolition of the Jedi, is executed. The scene begins with a group of Force-sensitive youths being instructed in the Jedi temple just before the clone troopers storm the temple and shoot the Jedi and the children.

Blaster fire hits no children, but the scene is dramatic, and for some viewers, too much, given the nation’s raw emotions over the unfathomable Texas tragedy.

Before the message appears on Obi Wan KenobiNetflix issued a warning in the final season of Stranger Things, which also premiered on Friday.

The disclaimer that precedes the recap of the previous season reads, “We filmed this season of Stranger Things a year ago.” “But given the recent tragic shooting at a school in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of Episode 1 heartbreaking. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to all the families who are grieving to be expensive.”

“Warning: Contains violent violence involving children,” Netflix added to the description for the premiere.
