Nuno Santo provides Tanguy Ndombele update after midfielder missed Tottenham’s win over Arsenal
Tottenham see off Arsenal
Tottenham ended their 2021 pre-season with a big win over north London rivals Arsenal.
Nuno Espirito Santo had previously picked up wins over MK Dons and Colchester and draws with Leyton Orient and Chelsea in pre-season before Sunday.
But Heung-min Son’s 79th-minute effort against the Gunners would be enough to ensure they came away with a 1-0 win in their final game before the campaign gets underway next week.

Nuno on Tanguy Ndombele
Tottenham would put out a fairly strong starting line-up on Sunday that included the likes of Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
There were also appearances from the likes of Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Serge Aurier from the bench.
One player who played no part on Sunday, however, was Tanguy Ndombele.
The Frenchman has now failed to feature in all of Spurs’ pre-season games this summer.
But when quizzed on Ndombele’s absence post-Arsenal, Nuno Espirito Santo gives little away.
He did state that Ndombele is not injured, but the actual reason for him continuing to miss out still remains unclear:
“Tanguy was not with us today. He’s not injured but we considered it’s not the moment for him to take part in the game.”
#thfc Nuno asked about Ndombele absence again. “Tanguy was not with us today. He’s not injured but we considered it’s not the moment for him to take part in the game.”
