Nuno Espirito Santo appears to aim dig at some Tottenham players ahead of Manchester United
Tottenham vs Manchester United
Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off will see Tottenham play host to Manchester United.
Both managers head into the game having suffered a fairly poor start to 2021/22.
Nuno Espirito Santo, for his part, has struggled to implement any sort of attacking style of play at Spurs – something they were seemingly crying out for following the departure of Jose Mourinho.
But the Portuguese’s failure to do so has seen Spurs score just nine goals in nine league outings this term, losing four already.
As a result, with Man United experiencing their latest crisis under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Lilywhites will be in desperate need of a win on Saturday to ensure the spotlight does not turn onto them.
Nuno appears to aim dig at certain Tottenham stars
Ahead of the clash, Nuno Espirito Santo appears to have called out some of his Tottenham players in a recent interview.
When speaking ahead of United, Nuno stated that he wished all the Tottenham players were equally committed.
He added that the players have to try from the beginning of the week to change the opinion and the idea the manager has about them but, he also adds that unfortunately, that does not always happen:
“I wish all the players were equally committed. That would be absurd to tell that is the reality, because the players have their own expectations.
“These players have to go beyond. They have to make a conscious effort that he has to go again from the beginning of the week to change the opinion and the idea of the manager.
“This is how it works. In this industry, this is what the player should do. Unfortunately, it’s not what is always happening.”
The Tottenham manager has suggested some Spurs players aren’t as “committed” as others in his squad.

This is seemingly a very diplomatic way of saying that some players are not trying hard enough and are not putting in enough effort to change his mind about them.
