Nuno coy on Heung-min Son’s availability for Tottenham vs Crystal Palace & explains when South American stars will return

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off will see Crystal Palace and Tottenham face off at Selhurst Park.

Spurs head into the match as the only side to win all three of their Premier League games so far this season, putting them top of the table.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have picked up just one point under new boss Patrick Viera.

Nuno on Son & South American stars

Ahead of the game, Spurs have had something of a nightmare when it comes to injury/personnel issues.

First, after travelling to Argentina, it was revealed that Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero are set to spend 10 days in Croatia, and will miss Spurs’ clash with Crystal Palace this weekend:

This would be followed by Ryan Sessegnon, Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn and Oliver Skipp all picking up some form of injury issue during the break.

So, Spurs fans were no doubt eager for Nuno Espirito Santo to provide updates on said players during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

And the Portuguese would speak on Son and the South American stars, but he did not mention Skipp, Bergwijn or Sessegnon during his presser.

On Heung-min Son, Nuno did not seem too positive, stating that Son is not well and, that he was unsure if it was a long-term issue:

“Like some of our players, he came with issues. Sonny is not so well. Let’s wait for the club to make the announcement. [Is it long-term?] I don’t know. Let’s wait and see. The doctors will make the analysis.”

Nuno also confirmed that the South American players who left on international duty will miss Spurs’ Europa Conference tie this week and will arrive the day before the Chelsea clash:
