Nokia Pure UI introduced, will not be available on Nokia smartphones

Nokia earlier this year changed its logo to a more modern minimalist design, after many years of sporting a familiar logo. The brand recently launched several smartphones including Nokia C32, Nokia C22, Nokia G22, Nokia C12 and Nokia C12 Pro. Now Nokia has announced Pure UI, a new user interface for its future B2B and enterprise products. Notably, Pure UI will not be available on Nokia smartphones manufactured by HMD Global. The Nokia Pure user interface, according to the official website, has a distinct appearance with a sense of ease and a minimalist design.

The new Nokia Pure user interface comes with a new design language. Although not used on any Nokia smartphone, it will be available on all software user interfaces developed or planned to be created in the near future by Nokia.

The brand says the style is meant to be cohesive, versatile and scalable, and has a clean, minimalist look. Several elements, starting with layouts and recommendations, define the whole look. The Nokia Pure typeface, which will be used throughout the user interface, is a key part of the new look.

The Pure UI has introduced new icons based on different strokes, the width of which can be adjusted to suit the display specifications and functionality of a particular device. Smooth animations are also used when an element needs to grab the user’s attention.

Additionally, Nokia has created core features that developers can use to quickly create consistent screens. A dark mode is also supported in the UI, with components and symbols adapting their styles accordingly.

Nokia Pure UI claims to offer robust elements which can be used to develop complex web dashboards. The interface is intended to be scaled from small wrist-worn displays to large wall-mounted display panels.
