Supposed beneficiaries of failed FS projects want those involved in corruption prosecuted

Supposed beneficiaries of failed FS projects want those involved in corruption prosecutedSeveral people who ought to have benefitted from the asbestos and Estina dairy farm projects want those implicated in the tender’s corruption to be prosecuted.

These beneficiaries joined dozens of African National Congress (ANC) Free State members outside Luthuli House to protest in Johannesburg on Monday.

They handed over a memorandum of demands to ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe.

One of those that ought to benefit from the Estina dairy project is 78- year- old Pule Tshabalala.

He said all he desired for is that those that contributed to the downfall of this project must be sent to jail.

“We are here for the Estina dairy project. The money for the project is gone and now we don’t know what happened,” Tshabalala said.

Another heartbroken beneficiary said his parents in Bloemfontein were still living in a house with an asbestos roof.

He was disappointed at the government who failed his elderly parents.

“The asbestos were supposed to be removed long ago, but they’re not.”

“A lot of people in Mangaung still have asbestos roofs,” he said.

The demonstrator’s memorandum was received by Mabe.

He also made an undertaking that the party would act on it.
