Schools reopened in Wuhan
Today marks the first day of reopening of schools in Wuhan, the central Chinese city where the coronavirus started from last year.
As Wuhan reopened schools today, it will see the influx of students for the first time in seven months.
After the reopening of high schools in May, about 1.4 million students got back to classes with 2,800 kindergartens, primary and middle schools across the city.
However, schools have put on an alternative in case a new coronavirus infection emerges. The alternative is to switch back to online teaching.
Students were urged to make use of their masks and try as much as possible to avoid public buses or trains.
Also, schools were instructed to begin training sessions and conduct drills in order to assist in preparation for new outbreaks.
According to official figures, Wuhan took the highest percentage of China’s more than 4,600 coronavirus-related deaths. Wuhan recorded 80% of the deaths and was put under strict lockdown regulations for more than two months since late January.
On a positive note, China has been able to curb the spread of the virus and has now gradually reopened some schools which were closed in late January.
