Motorist advised to expect traffic delay as union strike kicks off
As a result of the ongoing strike action and protest by the two biggest labour union in South Africa, motorists have been advised to expect a slow movement in traffic as several roads would be affected in Johannesburg and Tshwane on Wednesday.
Cosatu and Saftu embarked on a strike action on Wednesday over corruption, the failing economy, gender-based violence, and government’s non-implementation of this year’s wage hikes for public servants.
The delay in traffic is as a result of the march planned by the protesting workers.
JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar informed motorists that there will be traffic disruptions in some parts of Johannesburg CBD and surrounding areas.
This is because protesters marched towards the National Treasury.
