Matric students who test positive of COVID-19 will not write exams

The Department of Education puts out a warning to Matric student as regards the effect of COVID-19 on their final exams.

Taking to social media, the official page of DOE said any learner who tests positive won’t be able to continue the exam till 2021.

•If you test positive for COVID-19 before the examination you will not be allowed to write.

•If you test positive during the examination you will not be allowed to finish writing.

“If you cannot write or complete your 2020 examinations because of a positive Covid-19 diagnosis you have an opportunity to write in May/June 2021. The May/June examination will be open for anyone to write selected subjects or all subjects.”

According to Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize revealed on Tuesday that there are now more death record of Covid-19 in SA.

Dishing out the update, he said, “Regrettably, we report 74 COVID-19 related deaths today: 35 from Eastern Cape, 6 from the Free State, 8 from Gauteng, 6 from KwaZulu-Natal, 8 from Northern Cape, and 11 from Western Cape. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 19 539.”
