Lamiez Holworthy speaks on the gross effect of Lockdown on entertainers

Lamiez Holworthy pens down with “heavy heart” on the effect of Lockdown on South African entertainers.

It is believed that a second wave of COVID-19 might hit the country, which will lead to another Lockdown.

Most people are not pleased with whatever the pandemic is set to offer, and some have blamed music artists for the increase in victims of the virus, due to gigs and parties.

Taking to Twitter, DJ Lamiez says as much as she understands the effect of gathering, most artists don’t have a choice, as that’s their means of survival.

Being on Lockdown for 7 months made some musicians their houses, cars and many other things.

Hence she frowns at any harsh lockdown rules which might affect entertainers’ means of survival.

“So no,it’s not that we’re oblivious to the pandemic. We’re very aware but have no choice. People in our industry went for seven whole months without work. Many lost their cars,homes- everything. So yes,it’s easy to judge when you got paid a salary and can work from home.”

“The toughest thing is staying safe whilst having to work. This lockdown really crippled us and we take every opportunity that comes our way because bills need to be paid but..” she tweeted.
