Lagos schools to maintain shift system as schools resume for second term

The Lagos state government has stated that state-owned schools will maintain the shift-system introduced last year when they reopened for the first term of the year as schools in the state resume amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the state government, the shift system is to be continued to observe safety protocols necessary to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The shift system allows students in SS1 and JS3 classes go to school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while those in SSS 2 and JSS 2 will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

At the primary school level, the pupils divided into two categories with the first set to go to school on Mondays and Wednesdays and for about three hours on Friday morning.

The other set will go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and for three hours on Friday afternoon.
