Killian denies involvement in Charl Kinnear’s murder

Killian denies involvement in Charl Kinnear’s murderZane Killian has denied being involved in detective Charl Kinnear’s murder.

He made this known during his third appearance at the security-tight Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court  on Friday.

He was arrested in Gauteng last month in connection to the murder of the Anti-Gang Unit detective.

Kinnear was gunned down outside his home several weeks ago.

Killian who is facing charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and the illegal interception of communication was ushered to the dock by armed police officers.

It was heard that Killian allegedly tracked Kinnear’s cell phones between March and September.

The defence’s Eric Breyer presented two documents as proof that Killian was an accredited private investigator.

“The defence is very disappointed with the State because on the first appearance here, which was 17 days ago, the State undertook to find an alternate court.”

“We haven’t been appointed or given a regional court yet, but hopefully by next Wednesday, we’ll be able to do so.”

The defence stated that Killian didn’t conspire to murder Kinnear.

Due to security reasons, Killian’s bail bid will be heard in a different court but he will have to return to the Bishop Lavis Court next week.
