Hopes lifted for success in Kaizer Chiefs’ transfer ban appeal
Kaizer Chiefs’ hopes of an approval of their appeal against a two-year transfer ban brought upon them by Fifa last year have been met. This is after Zambia’s Nkana FC won theirs and was given the green light to sign new players
Amakhosi provided their appeal earlier this month and are now expecting the outcome either today or on Friday.
The Naturena based side were given a two-year ban after they were faulted for acting inappropriately in their dealings with Madagascar side – Fosa Juniors, over the signing of Adriamirado Adrianarimanana in 2018.
But since Nkana have managed to be given approval to start signing players, Amakhosi will be hoping for a positive news from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
Actually, Nkana’s situation is quite different to Chiefs’, however they had a dispute as regards contract with their former Ghanaian goalkeeper – Stephen Adams, and not with another club.
Nkana was able to seal an agreement with the player who had taken them to Fifa after their failure to pay his dues, and resulted to their transfer ban to be lifted.
