Four men killed in Nyanga- residents call for more security resources

Four men were ambushed and killed in Nyanga on Sunday night.

Another victim was left with injuries.

The victims were sitting in a car in front of a house in Crossroads before the incident occurred.

The police explained that a VW vehicle pulled up and three people from the car started firing shots at them and immediately drove off.

Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa said one of the victims died on the scene and the other three were rushed to the hospital but they later died.

Nyanga Community Policing Forum’s Martin Makasi disclosed that the community was outraged following the deadly senseless shooting.

“They were ambushed while sitting in the car. It is disturbing and goes to show how unsafe our areas are, and it speaks to what we have been saying all along that we need additional resources to be deployed to the Nyanga police precinct.”

He complained that this is not the first time a violent shooting would occur in the community.

Two people died in a shooting incident involving two Toyota Avanza vehicles in Lower Crossroads in June.

On that same day, four bodies were discovered in a home in another shooting.
