The argument between the protesters and the woman took place in the Walmer Palk Shopping Centre at 10:30am on Tuesday.

Walmer Park Shopping Centre manager Leonie Scheepers explained that the heated argument started when the woman was found filming the protesters who were dressed in EFF T-shirts outside Clicks store.

“Centre Security personnel approached her and requested that she cease videoing.”

“She ignored this request, and then confronted the person who appeared to be the leader of the group [EFF].”

“An altercation ensued. During the altercation, the customer took out a firearm and pointed it at the group,” said Scheepers.

He said the mall’s security and police are on high alert as the protest against Clicks is still ongoing.

He added that Clicks store has been closed until further notice.
