All MPs with no health issue expected to return to parliament- ANC
African National Congress (ANC) has informed all Members of Parliament (MPs) with no underlying health conditions to return to parliament in Cape Town for the final term of the year.
The next term of Parliament is set to resume on October 6.
For the past seven months, the MPs have been working and holding meetings virtually.
But on the 6th of October, those without any underlying health conditions are expected to return to parliament to work physically.
Those with health issues are expected to provide doctors certificates.
In an internal memo to all MPs, ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina indicated that the doctor’s certificates should be submitted on or before Thursday.
About 10 MPs tested positive for Covid-19 but most of them are fully recovering from the virus.
However, three MPs died from Covid-19 complication including ANC MP Zamuxolo Peter who served on the portfolio committee on tourism.
He was the last MP to succumb to the virus in August.
