But, could there be another loan move in the works?
Move for Bernd Leno in the works?
As per Graeme Bailey of 90min, the Magpies are looking to strengthen in goal, and have identified Arsenal Bernd Leno as the man to do that.
The German shot-stopper has been usurped as no.1 by summer signing Aaron Ramsdale, and has not played in the Premier League since Arsenal’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City in the third game of the season.
And, as per 90 min:
’90min understands that Newcastle have held conversations about a loan deal, which would include an obligation for a permanent signing – should they secure Premier League survival.’

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would let him go, given that they do not have a recognised alternative in goal aside from youth player Arthur Okonkwo, who is yet to play a competitive game for the side.
But will they be able to resist a big-money loan offer?
