Newcastle fans will love new signing Bruno Guimaraes’ Twitter exchange with Alan Shearer
A social media exchange between January addition Bruno Guimaraes and club legend Alan Shearer will no doubt bring a smile to the collective faces of Newcastle United fans across the globe on Monday evening.
The back-and-forth in question comes after Brazilian international Guimaraes, the most high-profile of five winter additions to Eddie Howe’s squad, took to his official Twitter account a short time ago.
The gifted midfielder unveiled a photo of himself holding up a ‘Bruno G’ jersey at St. James’ Park, accompanied by the caption:
”New home. New challenge! Come on”:

Magpies icon Shearer, in turn, reposted the image, with his own celebratory caption of ‘Bruuuuunnnooooooo’:

And the big-money addition to Newcastle’s ranks in the middle of the park was evidently appreciative of the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer reaching out, confirming as much in stating:
”Thank you boss”:

Toffees test
Turning attentions back towards the pitch, those of a Newcastle persuasion will no doubt be hopeful of seeing Guimaraes line out in the club’s colours for the first time in just 24 hours’ time.
This comes with the newly-minted Geordie powerhouse set to welcome Frank Lampard’s Everton to St. James’ Park, for a crunch Premier League showdown.
Despite their hefty January outlay, as things stand, Newcastle remain firmly entrenched in the English top-flight’s relegation zone, sitting in 19th with just 15 points to their name.
A victory over Everton tomorrow night, however, would see Eddie Howe’s men climb clear of both Watford and Norwich City, to within a solitary point of their upcoming opponents.
