Newcastle fans take note: Diego Simeone speaks out over future of Kieran Trippier
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has, on Saturday, provided an update on the future of transfer-linked stopper Kieran Trippier.
Atleti star eyed
Recent days, of course, have seen chatter surrounding the future of English international Trippier kick up a notch.
This comes with the right-back widely understood to be inching towards a Premier League return, on the back of prior spells with the likes of Burnley and Tottenham.
His predicted landing spot? Newcastle United.
After opting to buy long-time owner Mike Ashley out of his share of the club late last year, the new Saudi-based conglomerate at St. James’ Park, over the coming weeks, will finally be afforded the opportunity to flex their financial muscle on the transfer front.
Deals, in turn, are expected for a whole host of high-profile stars from across the continent, with Trippier, as things stand, looking closest to completion:

‘Has to decide’
In turn, when faced by the media on Saturday afternoon, it came as little surprise when Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was asked for the latest word on Trippier’s potential departure from the club.
The Spaniard, though, was keen to shift the onus onto the 31-year-old himself.
Simeone went on to confirm that, with a deal not yet complete, Trippier ‘has to decide’ whether or not he fancies a move to Tyneside, with Atleti set to make their own moves on the transfer front based on the defender’s eventual call.
