Newcastle’s struggles
Eddie Howe was named as Newcastle’s new head coach in November.
Howe joined whilst facing up to the mammoth task of keeping the North East outfit in the top-flight.
At present, though, that seems pretty unlikely after 19 games of their campaign. Newcastle are second bottom of the Premier League table, and have so far picked up just one win.
Granted, they are currently only behind 17th place by a few points, but it is fair to say that this Newcastle squad is currently not up to par, especially without the services of Callum Wilson and Alan Saint-Maximum.

So, a busy January transfer window is expected on the part of the Magpies.
And, as confirmed early on Wednesday, Kieran Trippier is close to becoming Newcastle’s first signing since their new owner the SAPIF took over:

Elsewhere, 101 have covered reports which suggest Newcastle are eyeing a new centre-forward and reinforcements at centre-back.
Now, it appears as though Newcastle are eyeing up something of a raid on Arsenal this month.
The Daily Mail citing reports from elsewhere in England claim that Newcastle are weighing up moves for all of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Rob Holding, Mohamed Elneny and Eddie Nketiah.
