Newcastle & Everton make contact with agent of AFCON standout
A trio of Premier League clubs are considering moves for Senegal star Pape Abou Cisse, it has been exclusively confirmed to 101.
The outfits in question come in the form of Newcastle United, Everton and Leicester City, all of whom are understood to have made initial contact with the defender’s agent regarding the possibility of a January move.
Cisse is currently plying his club trade in Greece with heavyweights Olympiacos, on the back of a successful loan stint in France with Saint-Etienne over the 2nd-half of last season.
Any move for the 26-year-old is expected to set interested parties back a sum of £6-7 million.

The sudden Premier League interest in Cisse’s services no doubt comes in at least some part owing to the defender’s showings over the early weeks of this month’s African Cup of Nations.
The former Ajaccio star was afforded starts in Senegal’s first two group stages outings, shining at the heart of the country’s backline en route to table-topping status in Group B.
In fact, The Lions of Teranga remain the only nation yet to concede a single goal across the tournament to date:

Add to this the fact that Cisse was afforded a spot in the Team of the Round for his opening day performance against Zimbabwe, and it becomes increasingly clear why scouts at Leicester, Everton and more have set their sights firmly on the Olympiacos man’s signature this month.
