Newcastle eager to muscle in on deal for Manchester United-linked midfielder
Newcastle are eager to muscle in on a deal for a midfielder who has been heavily linked with Manchester United of late.
Manchester United linked with RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara
The player in question? RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara.
After being appointed as Manchester United’s interim manager, it was reported that Ralf Rangnick told club chiefs that they needed to strengthen in midfield and should take a closer look at Haidara.
It was also claimed that Haidara was set to become the German’s first signing as Man United boss.
That same report stated that RB Leipzig’s Haidara would become Rangnick’s first addition, providing the Red Devils pay his release clause, which is believed to stand at £32m.

Newcastle to snatch Haidara from under Manchester United?
However, those reports would all come about several weeks ago and, despite Manchester United clearly needing a new central midfielder, no move for Haidara has been made.
And now, as mentioned above, it appears that another Premier League outfit is showing an interest in the African.
As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United’s lack of urgency could see them lose out on signing Rangnick’s prime target Haidara.
The midfielder is said to be high on Rangnick’s wish list. However, United are yet to make a formal bid.
And now, United’s interest has apparently caught the eye of Newcastle’s new ownership, who are eager to muscle in on a deal this month:
