Newcastle contact PSG over potential Keylor Navas transfer
Newcastle have inquired about the possibility of signing PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas, according to reports coming out of France.
Newcastle need to fix defence
Newcastle are currently in the midst of a relegation battle.
The Magpies have won just one Premier League game all season and are in danger of spending their first full season with their new owners in the Championship.
Newcastle’s main issue this term has been the number of goals they concede.
All told, Newcastle have let in a staggering 43 goals in 20 Premier League outings. Only Norwich, who have played one more game than the Magpies, have conceded more (45).
So, with a wealthy owner now behind them, improving their backline seems like a must for Newcastle this term.
Newcastle ask about Keylor Navas
At present, the North East outfit have brought in Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid to do this, but there is clearly more work to be done.
Newcastle have tried to sign a centre-back this month, bidding for Lille’s Sven Botman. However, the French outfit’s president recently confirmed that the defender will be staying put until at least the end of the season:
Lille president Olivier Letang confirms: “Sven Botman will stay here until the end of the season. He’s not gonna leave the club – he’s key player to help us achieve our goals”. 🚫🇳🇱 #Botman

Now, as mentioned above, Newcastle look to have been eyeing up a new goalkeeper.
RMC Sport report that Newcastle called PSG this week to find out the feasibility of a transfer for Keylor Navas. However, the Parisian outfit closed the door to a departure for Navas.
