Motorola announces Moto G Play (2023) in the US
It may be December 2022, but Motorola is already aiming for 2023 and has just announced its Moto G Play (2023) for the US market. The phone is the successor to the first generation Moto G Play from 2021.
The second-generation Moto G Play offers a 6.5-inch IPS TFT LCD display with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and 90Hz refresh rate. The rear houses a 16 MP main camera. Motorola’s official spec sheet mentions an f/1.22 aperture for the main sensor, although that’s a remarkable move for a mid-range one and we’re more inclined to believe the real value is f/2.2 at the moment. square. There’s a 2MP macro camera here as well as a 2MP depth module.
Moto G Play (2023) features a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage via the microSD slot. The phone runs Android 12 and packs a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging. Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, rear-mounted fingerprint reader, and IP52 water-repellent design.
Motorola G Play (2023) comes in a single Deep Indigo color and retails for $170 in the US. Open sales begin Dec. 12 through Motorola’s website, Amazon, BestBuy, and all major prepaid carriers.
