Mint Mobile increases its data plans on April 14

mint mobile could soon be acquired by T-Mobile, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to do some moves on his own. Starting April 14, the prepaid provider will increase the amount of data it offers to new and existing users while keeping its prices at the same levels they are today.

The new prepaid options will be as follows (prices are lower than Mint’s 12 month structure, although the carrier also offers plans in 3 and 6 month increments):

• 5GB per month of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data for $15 per month (was 4GB)
• 15 GB per month of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data for $20 per month (was 10 GB)
• 20 GB per month of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data for $25 per month (was 15 GB)
• 40GB per month of 5G/4G LTE broadband data for $30 per month, plus 10GB of hotspot data (this is Mint’s “unlimited” plan, and is an increase from the 35GB previous high-speed data and 5 GB hotspot data)

In a press release, Mint says current subscribers will automatically receive the new, higher data plans “when their monthly data refreshes” after April 14 and notes that users won’t need to “sign up, register or take action of any kind” to obtain the additional data. The Ryan Reynolds-owned carrier already began alerting its users to the change on Sunday.

Mint’s plan refresh comes just over two weeks after T-Mobile announced it would acquire the prepaid carrier and its parent company, Ka’ena Corporation, in a potential 1. $35 billion. This acquisition is expected to be finalized later this year.
