Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Explains He Trusts Khris Middleton to Death

Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Explains He Trusts Khris Middleton to Death

The Milwaukee Bucks have once again gathered some momentum after winning their second straight game against the Atlanta Hawks. With a 2-1 lead in the series, the Bucks have a chance at pushing Atlanta to a point of no return. And after what we witnessed today from Khris Middleton, nothing seems impossible. He proved that Giannis Antetokounmpo is not the only MVP in the Bucks.

Giannis can blindly rely on his Milwaukee Bucks teammate

Giannis and Middleton have played eight seasons together for the Bucks. However, this has been one of Khris’ best playoff performances so far. Despite having trouble on the road through the rest of the season, he seems to have finally found his footing. And if it wasn’t for his bombastic scoring, the Bucks would have been on the losing end of the match today.

In fact, even Giannis Antetokounmpo was amazed at the way Khris played. He made it clear that being the lone hero is not what matters to him, but working together as a team and doing what’s best for winning is what matters most. He said, “I want to be a winner. I have the whole game to be ‘the guy.’ I don’t care about being the guy in the fourth quarter. I trust Khris to death. If Khris asks for the ball, better give him the ball.”

What did Khris Middleton do?

The Atlanta Hawks had entered Game 3 with full force and were leading with 15 points. In fact, up until the second half, the Hawks looked far more in control of the game than Milwaukee. But that quickly changed in the third quarter when Khris Middleton got fired up.

The Bucks eliminated the deficit and started to fight the Hawks for a lead. It was like Khris was a different player in the second half. He had lesser points than Trae Young in the first half but surpassed him by finishing the night with a 38-point performance.

This playoff career-high night of Khris was enough to propel Milwaukee to a victory. It’s a pattern that has been noted where Middleton shows some struggle the first few nights in a series but comes through during the vital games. And that’s exactly what he did. Now that the Bucks are leading, they will hope to take a commanding 3-1 lead against Atlanta. Can we hope for another Middleton-centered game then?
