Mercy Aigbe was born on 1st January 1978 in Benin City, Edo State of Nigeria. Mercy Aigbe is originally from Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria but grew up in Lagos State, Nigeria. She is best known for acting in Yoruba movies. She is the second child in a family of five children.

Mercy Aigbe Educational Background

Mercy Aigbe completed her primary school education in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate, After completing her primary school education, Mercy Aigbe proceeded to Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing her secondary school education in Lagos, Mercy Aigbe proceeded to Ibadan Polytechnic in Oyo State, Nigeria and obtained her National Diploma (OND) in Financial Studies.

After obtaining her National Diploma in Financial Studies, Mercy Aigbe proceeded to University of Lagos LASU, in 2001 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.

Mercy Aigbe Acting Career

In 2001, Mercy Aigbe joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and started attending movie auditions and acting as a minor character in movies. After her graduation from the university, Mercy Aigbe joins the industry full time and became a professional actress.

Mercy Aigbe has starred in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include Satanic, Afefe ife, Okanjua, Atunida leyi, Igberaga, Ihamo, Ìpèsè, Iró funfun, Mafisere, Oju ife, Ile Oko mii, etc. She acts mostly in Yoruba movies.

Asides acting, Mercy is also a businesswoman with diverse sources of income. She has a fashion store called Mag Diva Boutique which she launched in November 2014. Mercy also has a skincare line called Flawless by Mercy, and an asoebi store called Asoebi Mercy.

Mercy Aigbe founded the MAG School of Drama in the year 2016. The school offers a 4-month training in acting, script-writing, movie making, stage management, etc. Students are under the tutelage of well-trained, and experienced instructors who help them build a solid foundation and develop the skills they need to succeed in the highly competitive Nollywood industry.
