McDonald’s poke fun at Liverpool over 3rd kit release

An amusing story surrounding the release of the 3rd kit set to be donned by Premier League giants Liverpool this season has come to the fore on Wednesday evening.

Klopp’s men go yellow

The drop of the latest alternative Liverpool jersey has of course taken centre stage online today.

This comes with the efforts of manufacturer Nike having been met with something of a backlash on the part of the club’s fanbase.

When their 3rd kit is required in 2021/22, Jurgen Klopp’s men will pull on a striking yellow design, complete with red trimmings, and a check design along the collar and sleeves:

Just some of the wave of altogether underwhelmed replies to Nike’s latest eye-catching release, meanwhile, are showcased below:

‘Where did you get it?’

As outlined above, though, it is one reaction to Liverpool’s new 3rd kit in particular which has, this evening, gone completely viral across social media.

Bizarrely, the response in question came courtesy of heavyweight fast food chain McDonald’s.

Amid widespread suggestions that the latest Reds shirt bares a striking resemblance to the look made famous by Ronald McDonald, the manufacturer took to Twitter to post the following message earlier today:

‘OMG, I love your top, where did you get it…’, accompanied by a pair of yellow and red hearts, and the acronym IYKYK.

For those not aware, the latter portion of the Tweet stands for ‘if you know, you know’, an evident effort to draw attention to Liverpool’s kit.

To the credit of those in charge of the Merseysiders’ social media accounts, though, they appear to have taken the lighthearted jibe well, having responded with:
