‘Massive step down’: Liverpool fans react to Origi-Barcelona transfer rumours
Origi’s Liverpool stint
Origi has been on Liverpool’s books since 2014 when he joined the Reds from French outfit, Lille.
Despite showing promise at a young age, Origi has never been able to cement his status as Liverpool’s main no.9.
Especially in recent years, Jurgen Klopp has only used Origi as a fringe player, with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota instead Liverpool’s main centre-forward options.
And with his contract running out at the end of this season, Origi’s time at Anfield does look to be coming to a close.
Liverpool fans react to Origi rumours
Though a fringe star, the 26-year-old has scored some crucial goals for Liverpool – including a brace in a Champions League semi-final clash vs Barcelona, which Liverpool won 4-0 to secure their spot in the final.
Now, reports stemming from Spain have linked Origi to Barcelona.
Though something of cult hero at Liverpool, Origi being a Barca target does show the Spanish outfit’s – who also have former Middlesbrough striker Martin Braithwaite on their books – fall from grace.
And, as the Origi to Barcelona rumours circulated on social media, Liverpool fans have reacted, with most moving to poke fun at the once great Barcelona being interested in the fairly average Origi:
Tears. Actual tears.
