Marcelo Bielsa confirms key trio – including Junior Firpo – are available for Leeds v Liverpool
Leeds vs Liverpool
There is just one Premier League clash taking place on Sunday this week.
Said tie will see Leeds United play host to Liverpool at 4:30 pm UK time.
Leeds will head into the game at Elland Road having had a pretty underwhelming start to the season.
The Whites would begin 2021/22 by being smashed 5-1 at the hands of bitter rivals, Manchester United.
The Peacocks would then by held to a 2-2 draw by Rafa Benitez’s Everton before then drawing 1-1 with Burnley in the final clash before the international break.
Granted, Leeds did earn a 3-0 win over Crewe in the League Cup, but they remain winless in the league this term so far.
And it is hard to see that changing this weekend either, as Liverpool should prove a stern test for the North Yorkshire outfit.
Marcelo Bielsa provides team news update
Ahead of the game on Sunday, Marcelo Bielsa would speak to the media on Friday.
The Argentine discussed a number of topics in his press conference and would provide updates on several players.
Firstly, the Argentine would confirm that Stuarts Dallas, Mateusz Klich and Junior Firpo are all available to face Liverpool:
“The three of them are available.”
Dallas missed Northern Ireland matches during the international break due to personnel reasons but is now back.
Firpo and Klich, meanwhile, missed Leeds’ last Premier League tie after testing positive for Covid-19.
But whilst said trio are available, Leeds will once again be without the services of Robin Koch.
When asked if the centre-back is available on Friday, Bielsa did not outline when he would be back, simply stating:
“No, not yet.”
