Manny Pacquiao vs. Errol Spence Jr. in Jeopardy as ‘Pacman’ Faces $3.3 Million Lawsuit

The 8-division champion Manny Pacquiao has come across some legal turmoils with his managing organization Paradigm Sports and it appears to have cast a large shadow on his comeback fight against Errol Spence Jr. The 42-year-old Pacquiao announced his return a few weeks back and shook the whole combat universe with surprise.

While experts applauded ‘Pac-Man’ for opting to face ‘The Truth’, sports manager Audie Attar didn’t seem to like the idea. He and his athlete-managing organization has sued Pacquiao for breach of contract, which cites the boxer to repay $3.3 million.

According to the reports of The Athletic, Audie Attar had other plans for Manny Pacquiao’s fighting future. Although Spence Jr. looks like the best contender for Pacquiao at the time, Attar wanted the Filipino Senator to go against Mikey Garcia.

Paradigm Sports claim that they had set up a four-fight deal between Manny Pacquiao and streaming service DAZN. That said, Mikey Garcia would have been the inaugural fight of the deal.

However, Pacquiao preferred to go for Spence Jr., who is currently under PBC. The lawsuit further says that Manny Pacquiao wasn’t entitled to face anyone from PBC, other than Floyd Mayweather.

Paradigm attorney Judd Burstein reflected the scenario in the lawsuit and wrote, “In addition to the millions of dollars in straightforward economic loss that Paradigm stands to suffer, the damage to its reputation resulting from Pacquiao’s breaches is incalculable.

“Just when Paradigm was at the cusp of establishing itself as a major player in professional boxing, Pacquiao has left its reputation as a boxing representative in tatters.”

However, Pac-Man vs Spence Jr. can still happen in the coming days. But will it work well for Pacquiao and Paradigm sports?

The veteran boxer joined hands with Audie Attar in February 2020 and appeared optimistic about the new beginning. As Paradigm sports handle several elite combatants like Conor McGregor, Pacquiao’s future also seemed bright.

Meanwhile, the management also pinpointed a few possible showdowns for Pacquiao, which included Ryan Garcia, Conor McGregor, and Mikey Garcia.

However, ‘Pac-Man’ doesn’t seem worried. He has recently posted pictures from his sparring sessions. So, it is safe to believe that Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr. is still a relevant fight.
