Manchester United handed Cristiano Ronaldo boost ahead of Newcastle
Newcastle vs Manchester United
Manchester United are set to return to action next week.
The Red Devils will face a trip to Newcastle on Monday the 27th of December, kicking off at St James’ at 8:00 pm UK time.
Manchester United head into gameweek 19 of the Premier League season sat 6th in the table.
However, as United currently have at least one game in hand on the sides above them, they could climb back up to 4th should they win said matches.
Newcastle, on the other hand, continue to flounder and look quite likely to be relegated this season.
The Magpies have still won just one game all season and, though they are only three points behind 17th place right now, Watford do have two games in hand on the North East outfit.
Eddie Howe’s side also have the worst defensive record in the league right now.
Cristiano Ronaldo returns to training
Ahead of the Newcastle game, Manchester United announced that they had opened up their training ground on Tuesday following a recent covid outbreak which saw two games postponed:
The complex was closed for first-team operations last week due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the club but opened again this morning (Tuesday).
Now, on Wednesday, a key man has returned to training for the club. That man is Cristiano Ronaldo:

Given Ronaldo has returned to training already, it would suggest he was not one of the players to catch covid. And it also seems to confirm that he should be fit enough to face Newcastle next week as he has plenty of time to train before the game now.
