Manchester United giving “serious consideration” to sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United make awful start
Given the talent at their disposal, Manchester United have begun the season awfully. While results have been mixed, including losses to Aston Villa, Young Boys and West Ham in the Carabao Cup third round, the performances even in victory have been significantly sub-par.
Only last-minute winners from Cristiano Ronaldo in games against Atalanta and Villareal in the Champions League have papered over what has been a poor European campaign from the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, the 5-0 humiliation at the hands of arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford, and the manner of the defeat, has cast serious doubt over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ability to manage the side.

Manchester United began poorly, conceding an early opener to Naby Keita, before Diogo Jota netted a second. After that, it was the Mohamed Salah show, with the Egyptian netting a hat-trick to rub salt into the wounds of their rivals in their own backyard.

Now, the fallout of a poor run of results is becoming clear. As per Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer may finally be sacked as Manchester United manager.

The report claims that:
The Manchester Evening News understands the club hierarchy is giving serious consideration to dismissing Solskjaer before United’s next game at Tottenham on Saturday. United have failed to respond for comment on the manager’s position.
The players seem keen on change too. Speaking on his twitch stream, Fabrizio Romano revealed:
“Many players, I can confirm, are not happy with what is happening. Big players”.
With games against Tottenham and Manchester City to come in the next two weeks, it is beginning to feel a bit more like when, not if, Solskjaer will depart the club.
