With his long-awaited £42-million move from Real Madrid nearly completed, both the Red Devils and their new man will be hopeful of his potential inclusion in their opening Premier League fixture at the weekend against Leeds United.
If registered in time, there is every chance that Ole Gunnar Solskjær will be able to call upon his new first-choice pairing at the heart of the United defence against Marcelo Bielsa’s high-flying Leeds outfit for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at Old Trafford.
Varane spoke about his eagerness to hit the ground running as soon as possible and begin training with his new Red Devil’s clubmates at the earliest possible convenience and could begin as soon as Wednesday.
Manchester United intent on keeping Anthony Martial
Despite the arrival of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær has ruled out the sale of Anthony Martial this summer and retains that the French international forward is part of his plans this season.

Martial’s contributions during the 2020-21 campaign for Manchester United were credible despite doubts being cast regarding his future, with the former AS Monaco man getting 23-goals across 48-appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
But with Marcus Rashford on the treatment table for up to 12-weeks and the returning Jesse Lingard having tested positive for Covid-19, Martial now has a role to play for Solskjær and could even be in line to start against Leeds United on Saturday despite only featuring in his first pre-season fixture against Everton this past weekend.
Luka Jović linked with potential United interest
Things have hardly gone according to plan for Serbian international centre-forward Luka Jović in the Spanish capital since his arrival from Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt back in 2019, and the player is once again linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester United have apparently put their name in the hat of clubs interested in the services of the Serbian hitman, who has yet to find his feet after a brilliant spell in the German financial capital. Should any interest grow into an official approach for the FK Crvena Zvezda youth product, they would reportedly face competition from both AS Roma and Inter Milan.
Jović has featured just twenty-one times for Los Blancos in the two seasons since his arrival, scoring just twice in the process. Despite Real Madrid being under new management in the guise of Carlo Ancelotti, there is no telling what the nature of his future is with the player himself stating he has yet to discuss his role under the iconic Italian headmaster.
