Manchester City provide update on Phil Foden after RB Leipzig concern
Manchester City slump to defeat in final group game
Manchester City travelled to Germany to take on RB Leipzig knowing that they had already qualified as group winners following their 2-1 win over Paris Saint Germain on matchday 5.
Leipzig, who could not qualify for the knockout stages, found their mojo finally, three days after departing with manager Jesse Marcsch, and fell two goals behind midway through the second half, thanks to an emphatic finish from Andre Silva.
Riyad Mahrez pulled one back, but it was ultimately not enough to allow Guardiola’s side to get anything from the game, while a late Kyle Walker red card means that he will miss the first Ro16 game.

However, they still topped their group.
This means that, as a result, they can draw one of:
- Atalanta/Villareal*
- Atletico Madrid
- Sporting Lisbon
- Inter Milan
- Benfica
- Red Bull Salzburg
*The game between Atalanta and Villareal was postponed due to heavy snow, and will be played on 9th December.
Update on Phil Foden
Now, an update has been forthcoming on a potential worry about starlet Phil Foden.
The young Englishman was replaced by Raheem Sterling at half time, and was thought to have picked up a potential injury just as he continued to work his way back to full fitness after injury.
However, as per Jack Gaughan, City are “confident” of Foden’s fitness for this weekend’s clash with Wolves.
