De Bruyne back in training

Manchester City creator-in-chief Kevin De Bruyne has returned to training for Pep Guardiola’s Premier League holders after pictured emerged earlier today of the Belgian star being put through his paces.

City is amidst preparations to travel south to the capital to clash with Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday after the Hornets gave a solid account of themselves against table-topping Chelse yesterday at home in a 2-1 loss, and the potential return of De Bruyne would go a long way in helping the City earn three points in what could be a tricky affair.

The Belgian star has not featured for City since 6 November when he completed 90-minuted against rivals Manchester United in a 2-0 win at Old Trafford, missing Premier League clashes versus Everton, West Ham, and Aston Villa as well as a Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

De Bruyne is one of four star names expected to make returns for City in the upcoming days, with Ilkay Gündogan, Kyle Walker, and John Stones all expected back on Saturday.

City kept marching on despite creative absence

Despite the absence of their most influential player, Manchester City did not skip a beat on the pitch without Kevin De Bruyne in the matchday XI either at home or abroad.

Pep Guardiola’s men posted three straight wins in the Premier League without KDB suiting up for the Etihad outfit, while also putting Ligue 1 giants PSG to the sword on the continent as they confirmed themselves as Group A winners while booking passage into the round of 16.

Their ability to keep rolling on the pitch shows a remarkable ability to find tactical solutions, while Portuguese international Bernardo Silva picked up the slack in the heart of the command and control room under Pep’s leadership.

As Manchester City currently sit just one point adrift of Chelsea and one point ahead of Liverpool in the paper-thin race for the Premier League crown, the return of arguably the best creative mind in Europe will go a long way in boosting their chances of out-pacing their closest domestic rivals and retaining their status as current holders.
