England shine at Euro 2020

2021 was certainly a year that will live long in the memory of England fans.

Euro 2020 would of course take place over the summer, a year on from its original start date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ahead of the tournament there was some optimism surrounding England after Gareth Southgate had been able to guide them to the 2018 World Cup final.

But it is hard to imagine anyone predicting England would do as well as they did.

The Three Lions were one of the best teams in the competition, making it all the way to the final and conceding just two goals all tournament.

Granted, they eventually lost the showpiece to Italy on penalties. But making it to their first-ever European Championships final and knocking old foe Germany out in the last-16 will make it a memorable summer for years to come.
