Reports stemming from the French media on Monday suggest that a trio of Premier League clubs are eyeing the signature of Metz starlet Pape Matar Sarr.
Sarr, 18, is widely viewed as one of the finest up-and-coming talents in France.
The teen is a defensive midfielder by nature, but in possession of the kind of technical quality which means that he is also more than capable of taking on a box-to-box role in the middle of the park.
Such abilities saw Sarr, despite his tender years, go on to rack up 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season, including an impressive 18 starts.
The Senegalese, capped once by his country, also managed to notch three goals across his debut campaign in senior football.

The opening weeks of the new term, meanwhile, have since seen the midfield all-rounder in from the off in both of Metz’s Ligue 1 outings, continuing to add to his reputation as one of the most highly-regarded young talents in Europe.
Premier League bound?
Such stellar exploits at such an early point in his career, though, were always likely to see interest piqued from abroad.
The early weeks of the summer saw Manchester United named as one of a host of clubs keen on Sarr’s signature, with the Reds, according to several outlets, having positioned themselves firmly at the front of the queue.
If the latest word doing the rounds in the French media on Monday is anything to go by, though, then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. look set to face stiff competition for the midfielder, not only from abroad, but also in England.
As per a report from RMC Sport, cited by GFFN, all of United, Chelsea and Manchester City have made contact with Metz, over Sarr’s services.
A bidding war, in turn, could be on the cards, albeit amid suggestions that the board at the Stade Saint-Symphorien are ready to demand a considerable €30 million for their latest gifted youth product:
