Maja Scores Again As Bordeaux Beat Boavista In Friendly Game

Josh Maja was on target for Bordeaux who beat Portuguese club Boavista 2-0 in a friendly game on Friday.

Recall Maja also got on the score sheet when Bordeaux pipped Brentford 2-1 in another friendly game six days ago.

Maja scored in the 63rd minute to make it 2-0 after Zuriko Davitashvili had opened scoring on 30 minutes.

He has scored seven goals in 15 league games and is in joint third place in the top scorers chart in the French second-tier division.

He is just one goal behind joint leading scorers Jean-Philippe Krasso of Côte d’Ivoire and Ibrahim Sissoko of Mali.

Bordeaux, on 28 points, are second behind leaders Le Havre (32 points) after 15 games in the 20-team league.

They will resume league actions against Le Havre on 26, December, 2022.

The two teams that finish first and second in Ligue 2 will automatically gain promotion to Ligue 1.

Maja made his international debut with the Super Eagles on 10 September in a 2–2 friendly against Ukraine, replacing Victor Osimhen in added time.
