Lost Ark becomes the second most played game in Steam history

Lost Ark surpassed one million concurrent players after just 24 hours of launch, becoming the second most played game in Steam history.

The massively multiplayer online game launched on February 11 in the West, after Amazon Games worked with Smilegate RPG to localize and translate Lost Ark and make it available in English. Lost Ark was originally released in 2019 in South Korea and has millions of active players in South Korea, Russia, and Japan.

It has now broken concurrent records for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, which regularly top Steam’s most-played games top.

Lost Ark is so popular right now that it has had server issues and there is a queue just to start playing. SteamDB lists Lost Ark’s concurrent players at 1,311,842, surpassing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s record of 1,308,963 players and Dota 2’s of 1,295,114. However, it’s unclear exactly how many of these players are playing. actively in the game and are not sitting in a server queue.

Either way, it now takes second place on the list of top contenders behind only PUBG: Battlegrounds. There is still a long way to go to break PUBG’s all-time high of 3,257,248 players. Lost Ark is a second huge success for Amazon Games, after New World set a concurrent record of 913,634 players four months ago.

Lost Ark is not available through Steam in India.
