Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold set to start in midfield for England vs Andorra

England vs Andorra

England would begin their international break on Thursday evening.

The Three Lions faced off with Hungary in what was their first match since the Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.

Gareth Southgate’s side would dominate proceedings at the Puskas Arena, eventually coming away with a resounding 4-0 win thanks to strikes from Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Harry Maguire and Declan Rice.

England are now set to turn their attentions to a home clash with Andorra on Sunday afternoon.

Andorra have picked up just one win from four in their opening 2022 World Cup qualifiers and England should have little issue dispatching them.

The game will kick off at 5 PM UK time, for more information on it, you can check out the links below:

Alexander-Arnold to start in midfield

With Andorra perhaps the second-weakest side in England’s group, it appears Southgate is willing to make some changes to his regular starting eleven.

He has already confirmed that Wolves’ Conor Coady, who did not start a single game at Euro 2020, will be in from the off on Sunday.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph have reported that Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to start against Andorra.

The defender, however, is expected to start on the right-side of a midfield three or four, instead of in his traditional right-back role:
