Liverpool’s Alisson fires angry Instagram message to Premier League referees after Colombia clash

Alisson struggles against West Ham

West Ham United and David Moyes continued on their astonishing upwards trajectory with a 3-2 win over Liverpool at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday.

An early Alisson own goal was cancelled out by a brilliant set-piece from Jurgen Klopp’s side, that saw Trent Alexander Arnold fire into the top corner.

However, goals from Kurt Zouma and Pablo Fornals ensured that West Ham came away with all three points, despite Divock Origi pulling one back for the visitors late in the piece.

Some controversy surrounded the opener, which was eventually credited as an Alisson own goal, with fans of both sides weighing in on the debate as to whether the goalkeeper was fouled.

Stopper blames the officials

Clearly, Alisson made his point of view known. A week later, the decision still stings, with the Brazilian taking aim at the Premier League officials in the aftermath of his country’s 1-0 win over Colombia, for their failure to give him a foul at the London stadium.

Taking to social media platform Instagram, Liverpool’s no.1 wrote:

It remains to be seen whether Alisson’s thinly veiled critique of the referees in England will be punished by the FA, who tend to take a dim view of players calling out referees in this manner.

Was he right, or did the referee get the decision spot on?
