Liverpool could offer player as part of Rodriguez deal
Firstly, Liverpool’s links to Guido Rodriguez have continued this week.
Reports of the Reds’ interest in the central midfielder began to emerge at the beginning of the week.
And now, another Spanish outlet have provided a fresh update on Liverpool’s reported interest in the Argentine, who had previously been linked with Arsenal.
The Liverpool Echo, citing Spanish outlet Fichajes, claim that Liverpool have considered offering Joel Matip or Divock Origi to Real Betis as part of a deal for Rodriguez.
It is not mentioned if the Spanish club actually has an interest in said players, but given neither is a central midfielder, perhaps Betis will be less inclined to accept?
Nat Phillips has admirers
Next up comes an update on the potential future of Natt Phillips.
The 24-year-old featured 17 times in the league last season due to Liverpool’s injury crisis, forming a decent partnership with Ozan Kabak during the final few months of the campaign.
However, with Liverpool now having Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back, as well as signing Ibrahima Konate, it appears the Reds are willing to part with Phillips this summer.
The Athletic report that Phillips is available for around £12m to £15m, with all of Burnley, Brighton, Newcastle and Southampton having been in contact. However, no firm offers are believed to have been made yet.
Shaqiri stuck at Liverpool?
Finally, Xherdan Shaqiri appears to be struggling to drum up any interest this summer.
Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that due to his injury record, Shaqiri has had no offers and no negotiations with any club, despite wanting to leave Liverpool this summer:
Update #Shaqiri (due to many inquiries): Still no interesting offers for him. No negotiations with any club. His price tag remains around €10m. His salary demand is around €3-4m + add ons. He still wants to leave #LFC this summer. @SPORT1 🇨🇭
