Jurgen Klopp’s side gazumped Tottenham, who were also interested in the Colombian, to bring a deal forward from the summer to January for the Porto man, who has 14 goals and 5 assists in 19 Liga Portuguesa appearances.
Such was Liverpool’s speed in the initial deal, that #announceDiaz was trending for much of Saturday, with fans urging the Reds to unveil their new man.
And now, an image has circulated of Diaz in front of a green screen holding up the Liverpool shirt, presumably filming the announcement video.
This led to the Athletic’s Liverpool correspondent James Pearce revealing that the deal is on course to be announced on Monday, i.e. Deadline day.

What about Minamino?
The addition of Diaz has led to a potential departure from Liverpool’s ranks in the form of Japanese forward Takumi Minamino.
The winger is subject to interest from Leeds United, who are in desperate need of added depth to their squad in the forward line, but it is unclear as to whether a deal will be struck between the two clubs.
Leeds have no intention to sell Brazilian winger Raphinha in January. West Ham asked for him but deal looks more than complicated, as per @JacobSteinberg. 🇧🇷 #WHUFC
Leeds are still thinking of Takumi Minamino on loan from Liverpool in case Summerville will leave the club. #LUFC
