Liverpool dealt blow as transfer expert rules out winger sale in January
Liverpool need wide support
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp can boast one of the best front threes in the world, and arguably the world’s best current player in Mohamed Salah.
However, there is little beyond, with only Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi as backups at present. A quick glance over to Manchester and Pep Guardiola’s side will reinforce among the Reds the importance of depth across the squad.
This will be compounded by the loss of Salah and Sadio Mane in January, with the pair set to jet off to the African Cup of Nations. As a result, Liverpool will surely be looking to bring at least one winger in come January or the summer transfer window.
And as per El Nacional, relayed via the Mirror, the Reds had made Real Madrid starlet Rodrygo one of their top targets as they look to build beyond the current dynasty.
🚨 Liverpool have made Real Madrid winger Rodrygo one of their main transfer targets and are willing to pay €80m for the 20-year-old Brazil forward.

Fabrizio Romano quashes rumours
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, while Liverpool may hold an interest in Rodrygo, Real Madrid have no interest in selling their Brazilian winger. Indeed, they are thought to be set to offer him a new deal to commit his future to the Santiago Bernebeu.
Real Madrid have no plan to offload or sell Rodrygo in January, as things stand. There’s no negotiation with Liverpool or any other club. His contract will be discussed soon, with a possible extension to be negotiated in the next months.
