Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp provides Mo Salah contract update

Liverpool’s contract spree

Liverpool have not been overly active on the transfer front this summer, signing just one senior player at the time of writing.

Where they have been busy, however, has been in tying their current stars down to new deals.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Alisson had agreed new contracts with the club earlier this month.

It was then announced last week that Virgil van Dijk had agreed news terms with the club until 2025:

Salah contract update

Liverpool though, do not look to be stopping there on the contract renewal front.

One of the next players on their list when it comes to signing current stars to a new deal looks to be Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian has been one of Liverpool’s standout star since his move from AS Roma, notching a staggering 126 goals and 49 assists in 204 games before this weekend.

However, Salah, now 29, has less than two years left on his current deal. But, Liverpool fans should not be too worried about the winger running down his contract, as Jurgen Klopp would confirm this week that there are indeed talks talking place with Salah over a new contract:

“I am involved in pretty much everything in the club. Maybe some talks happen without me but I know about all the things and it’s how it always is.

“We don’t really speak about these kind of things [contract negotiations]. I know we changed that a little bit with Hendo, but that doesn’t mean we will talk from now on and tell you about each little step we make in any negotiations.

“But two things: Mo is obviously in a really good moment football-wise, mood-wise, and how he behaves from the first day he came back is absolutely great. We’re all adults, we’re all professionals, there are talks and when there is a decision we will tell you. Until then it is only important how the parties work together. With two years left you can imagine there are talks and that is it.”
