List of Umpires at the Wimbledon Championships 2021
As the third Grand Slam event of the season is soon to begin, players are busy preparing themselves for the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Yesterday, the draws in the men’s and women’s categories were revealed. To ensure a fair judgment and make accurate decisions, umpires take care of the proceedings.
At the Wimbledon Championships 2o21, there are 377 chair umpires and 327 line umpires respectively. These officials help in officiating matches that take place along the fortnight. There are 187 British officials, all members of the Association of British Tennis Officials) and 140 officials picked from all over the globe, which includes seven ITF and Grand Slam umpires that officiate matches in all four Grand Slam events.

Amongst the male officials, there will be Carlos Ramos, Ali Nilli, Carlos Bernardes, Damien Dumusois, Mohamed Lahyani. Amongst female officials, we have Alison Hughes, Aurelie Tourte, Louise Azemar Engzell, Eva Asderaki-Moore, and Marijana Veljovic.
All the names mentioned above are highly experienced and efficient in their work. They have taken care of proceedings in some of the most important events in our sport. Therefore, to have to use such trained and skilled officials was mandatory for a tournament of stature like the Wimbledon Championships 2021.
The Chief Umpire, Adrian Wilson is responsible for all the on-court officiating during the two weeks. His role is to assign, supervise, and assess all of the officials each day. A custom-made computer system and a team of assistants help him in this role.
All the action begins from Monday the 28th of June onwards
The Wimbledon Championships 2021 is beginning on the 28th of June and will end on the 11th of July. After the event was canceled last year, fans and players are highly anticipated to watch and compete at this prestigious event.
Superstars like Roger Federer and Serena Williams will be headlining this event. World No. 1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic will be the man to beat, giving his current form. On the other side, British star Andy Murray has received a wild card. It will be interesting to see how things unfold during the fortnight at South West 19, London.
